Japanese Broadband Subscribers Break 20 Million

Broadband subscribers in Japan has hit 20 million, in which DSL subscribers comprised 14 million, fiber optic and cable broadband subscribers each took up three million, while wireless subscribers accounted for 20,000. Overall, broadband services in Japan saw an increase in subscriber number, with the exception of wireless subscribers which dropped 20%. In terms of market share, fiber optic services occupied 16.6%; cable 14.9%, and DSL, 68.5%.
